Bioactive
A bioactive vivarium is a living, self-cleaning setup where a "cleanup crew" of isopods and springtails plus live plants break down waste — beautiful, enriching, and low-maintenance once established.
It layers drainage, a bioactive substrate, a cleanup crew and plants into a mini-ecosystem. It's not a shortcut around good husbandry — heat, UVB and humidity still have to be right — and a sick animal belongs in a simple quarantine setup instead.
