Captive-bred vs wild-caught

Also called: CB · WC

Captive-bred (CB) reptiles are born in captivity, while wild-caught (WC) ones are taken from the wild — and captive-bred is almost always the healthier, hardier, more ethical choice.

Wild-caught reptiles are stressed, often carry parasites, adapt poorly to captivity, and their collection can harm wild populations. Captive-bred animals are used to captive life, healthier, and don't drain wild numbers — always ask a seller which it is.
