Quarantine
Quarantine is housing a new reptile separately, in a simple easy-to-clean setup, for several weeks (often 1–3 months) before it goes near your other animals — to catch parasites or disease first.
A quarantine setup is kept minimal (paper-towel substrate, simple hides) so you can monitor droppings, feeding and health, and spot mites or infection before they reach your collection. Standard best practice with every new animal.
